Getting a band together and working with our experienced teachers in your home is so affordable and it’s a relatively easy process.

Our Rock Band teachers will have experience playing in a band, experience with multiple band instruments, and the background needed to get your band on the right note. All teachers must audition, pass a music and theory test, background check, and undergo training through our company.

• Minimum of 2 students required for Rock Band Lessons in your home. The ideal Rock Band would have four students, one on guitar, one on bass, one on drums, one on keyboards. However, our Rock Band instructors can help any Rock Band with at least two members.


• All Rock Band students must fill out an enrollment form (meaning, the group cannot fill out one form together; each member has to fill out a form).


• Starlight Music Lessons does not match students with other group members. Please enroll in Rock Band only when you have at least two students ready to take the lessons together. Ask friends, neighbors, and family to join you!


• Students must own/rent the instrument they wish to learn. Your Rock Band instructor will not provide instruments for you to play on.

How do I enroll in Rock Band Lessons?
Decide who will be the leader and scheduler for your group. Simply click on ENROLL in the upper menu on this website. Select the best teacher for you and schedule your lessons! No guessing and hoping that you will get the “right” teacher. You pick who will work best for your group. Be sure to select a Rock Band teacher! We'll email you with additional enrollment forms for the rest of your group to fill out. Remember that all group members must fill out an enrollment form before lessons can begin.

If there are three people in my group, and we take 30-minute lessons, would I only get 10 minutes of instruction?
This is a common question. You will be learning and activly involved for the entire lesson. Your instructor will not simply do three private lessons in 30 minutes. Rather, all three students will be learning for all 30 minutes. Students will learn from each other, augmenting the learning experience.

What is the difference between the Group Lessons and the Rock Band Lessons?
There really is no difference.Rock Band Lessons are simply group lessons with a special name. The only difference between a Rock Band teacher and a Group Lesson teacher is that the Rock Band teacher must be able to teach up to four instruments.

Starlight Music Lessons offers an exceptional recital/concert experience for the student. Although participation is not mandatory, each student is strongly encouraged to perform as our recitals are the highlight of the year and serve to provide motivation for even the most "stage shy" student.

Recitals are held in local auditoriums, with a maximum or 40-50 students per show.

We have a big show every spring, usually in May or June. Winter and Summer recitals are held if there is enough student interest in your area. In addition, we combine recitals with community service by offering organized performing opportunities at nursing homes and retirement apartments. Click here for more information about recitals!
